On a warm, sunny, fall afternoon (we've had many warm, sunny, winter afternoons, too!), I felt like doing a photo shoot.
M&D + Sis were gone, I was in charge with 2 bros + Susanna.
So, Eric and Susanna were my models for that day. (See how Eric's shoot turned out here)
I'd forgotten to post these in 2011, and what a better way to welcome February than with a photo post!

What happens when the weather is sunny and 55 degrees on January 10, 2012?
A walk to the post office, in my springy orange and white Nikes, loving the sun and warm breeze on my face, listening to an encouraging talk.

Welcome 2012!

Happy New Year, everyone!

I'm gonna start out with a statement.

..........Wait for it.........

I'm so grateful God designed light.

I shall now explain myself. (I'm feeling very philosophically inclined presently)

Well, first of all, photography would be pretty bland without it.

But, when reading in Genesis 1 today, it came to me, through the revelation of the Holy Spirit, that God gave us light to mark the seasons, sacred times, days, years (Gen. 1:14-15)

Years are marked by the counting of days, the changing of the seasons.

We know spring is around the corner when the days get warmer, green starts to arrive, and the closets are calling your name...."Clean me out!"

We also know that depending on wear you live, March/April is the calendar month that will welcome Spring.

This New Year is marked by the ending of calendar year 2011 (which I will really miss....writing two-zero-one-one was SO easy......you could kinda slur the ones together), and the turning of the page to 2012.

I'm excited about what the Lord has planned in my life for this New Year.

What a beautiful time in history to be alive.

Finch Men | December 2011

A week into December, I got a phone call to do a photo shoot for some desperate guys.

A Christmas gift was in the making, and some photos were needed for it ASAP.

Of course, all I do is sit around waiting for photos shoots to happen (...not really!)

But, I actually had a very busy day when they called, and we were still able to plan it for that afternoon.

Next time they ask, I hope they choose a slightly warmer day....it was a gelid (come on, go look it up in the dictionary-It's my favorite word during this time of the year!) sun-behind-the-clouds, wind blowing 24 degree day!

You've seen on of the guys before----Michael and I graduated together, and I took some of his senior portraits.

I was very pleased with what I got, and hope you enjoy seeing some my favorites!
